YAA5 – An Introduction To Our New Site – Your Aliyah Advisor

On the main Page our son Dovid Pinchas is seen in a video paying his respects to his Rav and mentor Rabbi Yitzhak Eliezer Gradnavich, who passed away ten minutes before Rosh Hashana of this year. To honor his memory, Dovid has been making a series of Shemitah videos in English and Hebrew following the recommendation of Rav Chaim Kanievsky to learn two Shemitah Halachas daily.

I Have The Highest Respect For Rav Chaim Vidor Who Teaches At Yeshiva Chochma V Daat In Rechovot

Because we are currently in the Shemitah Year of 5782, there are many laws which all Israelis must know regarding Shemitah. Our family has lived here during four Shemitah cycles and up until this year, I have not found a wide range of Shemitah shiurim that can answer all my Shemitah questions. I am not only speaking about basic Shemitah Halachas which many shiurim do cover, but also tailor made shiurim that address Shemitah related questions which come up during the course of the Shemitah year.

Therefore, this year, I approached many Rabbis and friends in my community to help create a site that would answer simple Shemitah questions on an on-going basis. Long before the Shemitah year started I began searching for the answer and despite all my efforts I was unable to find the correct solution.

My Sons Help Me Solve This Problem

When I explained the above to my son Dovid Pinchas who has learned at Yeshiva Chochma V Daat in Rechovot for many years, he immediately presented this idea to Rav Chaim Vidor who has been teaching there since the Yeshiva began more than 20 years ago. Rav Vidor serves as a Dayan on the Beit Din in Bnei Brak and is a well-respected member of the community.

Rav Vidor began sending me 2 Shemitah Halachas via email nearly every day from where Dovid Pinchas is able to make videos in the Lawyer’s Office he gives a daily Daf Yomi shiur. On occasion, one of the students in the Yeshiva takes videos of Dovi as well.

Our oldest Son, Yaakov Tzvi, helped me from the beginning, with this new Internet Site. He is pictured in an image appearing in the “slider” toward the top of the Main Page holding his son Gavriel behind Rav Chaim Kanievsky. Facing Rav Kanievsky is our grandson Simcha Zissel who just turned 11. Dovid Pinchas is standing behind his son Simcha Zissel. You cannot see Dovi’s face in this picture. My sons were there to receive a Bracha from Rav Kanievsky for our extended family.

The video runs for 9 min and 25 sec and Rav Vidor speaks about a basic principal related to Shemitah derived from Parshat Vayikrah – Pasuk 25.6- It says “to eat” Shemitah produce.  If you go to the Blogs section in the Main Page of our new site, you will see all the latest Blogs, most of which are from Rav Vidor. They are all in Hebrew, because I wanted to publish the original document Rav Vidor produced which includes sources from where Rav Vidor derives these Shemitah Halachas that appear in the numbered footnotes at the end of each page.

My son Dovid Pinchas made a series of Videos to honor the memory of his mentor and Rav, Rabbi Yitzhak Eliezer Gradnavitch which appear in the Videos section of the Main Page. Dovid uses the Halachas from Rav Vidor as the basis for making these Videos.

Speakers  Of Other Languages                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Because Rav Vidor is producing a very important number of Shemitah Halachas in accordance with Rav Chaim Kanievsky’s recommendation we spend a short amount of time each day learning two Shemitah Halachas to take away the current difficulties we are experiencing throughout the world.

Therefore I want to suggest that anyone able to translate Rav Vidor’s original work into another language that other non-English and non- Hebrew speakers can understand, would be very helpful in unifying all Jews together to learn these Halachas.

This Applies No Matter Where You Live, Because As We All Just Witnessed, Many Ukrainian Jews Who Never Thought About Making Aliyah, Less Than Two Weeks Ago, Are Now Our New Neighbors Who Came With Only The Clothes On Their Back. Our Family Has Answered The Call To Donate What We Can To This Very Worthy Cause.

It Is My Hope That Readers Will Join Together And Learn As Many Shemitah Halachas As Humanly Possible To Storm The Heavens With Our Prayers And Rapidly Defeat Today’s Version Of Amalek. That Includes Not Only The Russian Dictator, But Includes Those Who Still Hate Our People And Want Us Destroyed.                                           

There Can Be No Better Time Than Now Because This Shabbat We Read Parshat Zachor Which Commands We Remember What Amalek Did To Us.
