FAITH & TRUST INTRODUCTION
I purchased the book entitled Faith & Trust written by The Chazon Ish many years ago. It was translated into English by Yaakov Goldstein and published by Am Asefer in 5768 (2008). Of importance to our family, is a note by the Translator who gives Mrs. Eva Hollander a special mention. Our whole family owes a special thank you to Mrs. Hollander and her husband Chaim Tzvi who were our upstairs neighbors when we lived in Neve Yaakov. They were very helpful to our whole family during the initial stages of the Aliyah process.
But that was not the end of the story, because downstairs lived a family that lost their mother to a terrible illness which left her husband responsible for raising their seven children on his own. But here is where it gets interesting, because eventually that husband found a new wife who agreed to take on the responsibility of helping to raise those seven children. That woman turned out to be my third cousin who I had never met before.
Perhaps that story in itself will provide you with a good definition of what the words Faith & Trust in G-d actually mean. I know for me when those words Faith & Trust are mentioned, the story about how I ended up living in the same building as my third cousin is one of the first stories that comes to mind. A few other stories also feature such as the time I stood next to the Kever of the Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak saying the whole book of Tehillim standing with a Minyan. We were instructed by our son Dovid Pinchas’ Rav to do so by praying for the easy birth and complete recovery of our Grandson Simcha Zissel who was given only a 2% chance to live because the scan showed a major portion of his diaphragm was not formed. Simcha Zissel is now doing nicely Baruch Hashem.
We intend including more stories related to Faith & Trust.
