BLOGS INTRODUCTION

There are many stories which IY”H will be posted in future on a wide range of topics related to making Aliyah and living in Israel since our family left Johannesburg, South Africa, on Motzei Shabbat Parshat Lech Lecha – October 26, 1996 – 14 Cheshvan, תשנז.

This year is Shemitah which takes place every seven years in Israel. Due to its many different laws and customs, Shemitah appears as a separate topic on the Main Page Menu. The topic of Faith & Trust in Hashem has also been included, because that is a fundamental belief a farmer must have during the Shemitah year.

After living here for 25 years, we have realized that just like the farmer who is willing to leave his Land in Israel fallow during Shemitah must have Faith & Trust in G-d to do so, it helps all Jews who live not only in Israel, but from anywhere else, to have the same Faith & Trust in G-d to suddenly pick up their family and make Aliyah.

Therefore, with world current events continuing to point to an increase in key factors that were responsible for The Flood in Parshat Noah, we feel it is extremely important that the topics of Shemitah and Faith & Trust are discussed and studied. This explains why we have placed those topics ahead of Aliyah on the Main Page Menu.
